Delivering Health Care in Isolation and Quarantine Facilities for People Experiencing Homelessness
Delivering Health Care in Isolation and Quarantine Facilities for People Experiencing Homelessness
By : chcworkforceThis session was hosted on April 28, 2020. People experiencing homelessness face unique challenges in the new COVID-19 environment. Staying in congregate facilities and living on the streets puts this population at increased risk of infection, and higher rates of chronic disease increase the risk of complication and death. Many cities are establishing isolation and quarantine facilities in motels, convention centers, and in other settings to mitigate and manage the spread of COVID-19 among homeless residents.
Representatives from HRSA and leaders from health centers shared workforce strategies for delivering care in these settings and best practices in service delivery.
