I love the plan! It doesn’t have to be fancy, but a spreadsheet with the elements you mentioned will help you talk with partners and others about what you need. And of course– work smarter, not harder. Thanks for sharing your plans!

After you’ve talked with your team, take a moment to share here what your specific goals are re: workforce metrics. Are there specific portions of your workforce plans you want to update? Are there specific metrics you’d like to review more effectively with your teams? Writing down the goal will help guide you through the next few assignments, and will help you identify others who could benefit from your expertise.

Inquiring minds want to know: what HR systems are y’all using? Share on this thread, then find someone similar that you can connect with to talk reports and other details.

Here are the slides with links from our chat today! Thanks especially to Kelly, Colleen, and Yair for sharing.

Here’s the worksheet for your team discussion. You don’t have to use exactly all of these questions, but plan to come out of the meeting with some specific areas of focus. The more specific goals you can identify, the more useful this experience will be!

Y’all can use this thread to share names of any Human Capital, HR, payroll, etc. systems that you use. Find your report-running buddies to troubleshoot and discuss!

Some reflection questions for you as you review the metrics and think about how they might change your work:
    1. Which data point would you consider providing to managers on a regular basis?
    2. How can examining some of these data points together help you plan for the financial impact of workforce?

Here are the slides from today’s office hour. Thanks to Vickie, Brad, Lisa, Gerri, and Jessie for sharing your efforts and concerns!

Here’s the sample spreadsheet with inputs and some formulas in case you want/need to do any metrics by hand. You’ll need to consider definitions for a lot of the inputs, and update the columns based on what you specifically can track, but it’s a start for those of you who want to test out something new. Let us know if you want to discuss in more detail!

Here’s the discussion worksheet for your assignment. Please meet with your team and work through a couple of the questions for as many metrics as you’d like. The point if for you to have some practice actually discussing what you’d want to do differently based on the data you’re seeing (or what good things you’d like to highlight!).
