HELLO!!! My name is Yadira Alonzo and I’m the Medical Staff Specialist here at Tri-Cities Community Health (Tri-Cities, WA) for more than 11 years. Prior to joining TCCH, I had no healthcare experience at all and was essentially thrown into the worlds of credentialing/privileging and provider recruitment without much instruction, so I’m proud to be self-taught and like to help others. Among the many various provider-related duties I have, recruitment is definitely the most challenging, but can also be the most rewarding part of my job.

    • Greetings! I am Sharon Cleveland, Director of HR and Compliance. I have served at Indian Stream Health Center, a rural FQHC in northern NH for over 10 years. I have been the Compliance Officer for the duration of my employment, and served in many roles, however, it wasn’t until 2014 that our organization formally centralized the HR function and department. I am an avid learner and look forward to learning something from everyone in our group!

    • Hi, everyone! My name is Susan Crowe. I started at Norwalk Community Health Center (NCHC) in August 2017. My job title is Chief Administrative Officer. I am responsible for Human Resources, Compliance & Risk Management. NCHC has about 90 employees and a current vacancy rate of about 15%. That was a leading factor in my CEO asking me to look into the STAR2 program when I first started here. I have worked in healthcare HR for almost 20 years, but I have not had direct responsibility for the recruitment function for a number of years and a lot has changed since then, so the Recruitment Bootcamp is a great opportunity for me!

    • Hi everyone,
My name is Diane (Dee Dee) Schenck. I started at East Hill Family Medical the end of August. FQHCs are new to me. I am the HR Director. The CEO and Clinical Director had signed me up to do the Boot Camp prior to me being hired. My background is working for a private not for profit human service agency for over 20 years. My background also includes overseeing the day to day Operations (including supervising the HR Department along with many other departments) as well as community partnerships. My challenge currently is getting back totally into HR, keeping up to date with all of the Regs. and doing the recruitment for the Health Center. I’m enjoying it so far and looking forward to continuing to learn.

    • Good Afternoon,

I am a little behind on my responses. My name is Maria Jacobson. I am the Human Resources Coordinator for Partnership Community Health Center in Appleton, WI. I have been here over six years. Along with my HR duties I am the Privacy, Advocacy Leader, I work with compliance and credentialing and privileging and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some days I feel like all I do is put out fires, that may be why I am behind in Boot Camp assignments but I love my job. I struggle with the recruitment aspect as I do not have the time to devote that it requires.

    • Good afternoon! I am Ann Feil, the Chief Operations Officer of Salina Family Healthcare Center in Salina, Kansas. I have been in my current role for over 7 years. I directly oversee the HR Department, which consists of an HR Coordinator and HR Specialist. • Hello everyone. My name is Denise Highfill. I’m the HR/Compliance Officer for Shingletown Medical Center. We are located in Shasta County at the base of Mt. Lassen. I’ve been with SMC for a year. Prior to this I was the COO at Cares Community Health in Sacramento, CA, worked for the California Primary Care Association and before that with Shasta Community Health Center in Redding, CA. Yes, I have been in the FQHC world for more years than I’d like to count. I love our FQHC mission, our dedicated staff and the challenges that come from working for a non-profit.
