Description: From February through April, participants will spend 30 minutes each week in a mix of webinars, office hours, and assignments to understand and implement organizational strategies to reduce clinician burnout. This series will explore five specific organizational influences on burnout: recruitment for retention; the role of team-based care; overcoming EHR challenges; administrative structures; and creating positive management relationships. Participants will learn about these organizational influences and create action plans to begin to address them. A cohort of 25-30 health center staff will also benefit from peer sharing on an online discussion forum and from direct access to technical assistance from presenters. This introductory course is designed for C-suite and management staff at small to medium size health centers.
Learning Methods:
Webinars: These instructor-led webinars will provide an overview of a specific organizational strategy to reduce clinician burnout. All webinars will last for 30 minutes and will take place at 2pm Eastern.
Office Hours: Course instructors will hold web-based office hours for 30 every other week, and will take place in the STAR² Center web room at 2pm Eastern. All participants should log on at the top of the hour to receive the week’s homework assignment. After that, attendees can ask questions, work through the homework live, or exit the room to work on the assignment on their own time.
Assignments: Instructors will present a brief homework assignment during office hours every other week. Participants will be able to ask questions about the assignment and get live technical assistance on any questions. Assignments will be completed and submitted on the discussion board for review and comment.
Discussion Board: Participants will share questions and information with instructors and their cohort on this private discussion board. Links to webinars, assignments, and additional resources will also be available here.
