LPCA – FQHC 101 – Basics for New Health Center Staff




This training is designed for all health center staff. FQHC 101 will provide a complete overview of the key components of the Health Center Program. Participants will gain an understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers, why they exist, and how they are different from other safety net providers. In addition, we will highlight many of the shared language of FQHCs (acronyms), common programs (340B, FTCA, IPA, ACO), major challenges, types of health centers, the role of supporting organizations, HRSA requirements(UDS, site reviews), and accreditation initiatives.

  • Learning Objectives:
    • Gain an understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers, why they exist, and how they differ from other safety net providers
    • Identify types of health centers
    • Increase awareness of HRSA requirements (siding fee scale, UDS, On-Site Visit protocol)
    • Become familiar with shared language of FQHCs (acronyms), common programs (340B, FTCA, IPA, ACO), major challenges, the role of supporting organizations, and accreditation initiatives
  • Primary Audience
    • New health center staff
    • Any staff with little to no experience working in an FQHC or CHC
    • Staff that need a basic, foundational understanding of the unique practice environment of an FQHC
