Please fill out the registration form separately for each team member attending the session.
Goals of the Day:
These sessions are designed to increase PCA communication regarding workforce activities and priorities, and identify areas of collaboration across PCAs in the region. Conversation will look forward 3-5 years, but the goal is to leave with a regional action plan focused specifically on 2017-2018 activities.
“Workforce” is a broad topic that encompasses many issues and activities affecting health center operations. In an effort to narrow down the topic of workforce to make the Strategy Session productive, ACU will focus discussion specifically on recruitment and retention activities. Issues like pipeline development may be relevant depending on the specific focus of the PCAs participating, but will generally not be at the center of conversation.

Audience:
Each PCA is invited to bring 1-3 staff to this one-day, in-person meeting. Participants should be the PCA staff with expertise in workforce issues and the PCA strategic vision. If you’d like to bring more than 3 staff, please let us know.
How to Prepare:
Participants should register online, at least 2 weeks before their Strategy Session is scheduled. No pre-work is required, but participants should collect some information and come to the session prepared to discuss:
- List of workforce-related activities in the upcoming BPHC project year
- List of state or regional workforce data sets available to the PCA
- Results of any recent workforce needs assessments
Travel Stipend:
ACU is providing a $500 travel stipend to each PCA that participates in the Strategy Session. Each PCA is eligible for only one stipend, even if they send multiple participants. To receive the stipend, please register for your region’s Strategy Session, then submit an invoice to ACU listing the date of the session, name of participant, and purpose of travel. If you are unable to send a PCA staffer after you have received your stipend, you will be required to refund the travel money. Please contact Allison Abayasekara with questions.
The host PCA has recommended the following options for lodging and transportation nearby the meeting site for those traveling to this session:
- Hotel – The session will be held in the same hotel as the NWRPCA conference that begins the next day. We hope this will make accomodations easier to manage.
- Transportation
- Flying in to the Spokane Airport? The hotel is 8 miles away. Check out their ground transportation recommendations.
