Workforce Innovation to Increase Access to Dental Care




As part of a continuing series of webinars featuring strategies for increasing access to dental care in HRSA health center grantees, the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) will host a presentation on workforce innovation. This session will describe two types of newly developed dental team members: Community Dental Health Coordinators (CDHC) and Dental Therapists/Advanced Dental Therapists (DT/ADT) and how these dental team members are utilized in health centers.

Speakers include Jane Grover DDS MPH, Director, Council on Access. Prevention and Interprofessional Relations, American Dental Association and Jane Koppelman, Research Director, Pew Children’s Dental Campaign, Pew Charitable Trusts.

This webinar will review the development and spread of these new dental team members in the United States, review CDHC an DT/ADT scope of practice an give examples of how HRSA health center grantees and other safety net dental programs are employing these team members to expand access to care.
