In this webinar we will examine the impacts of racism in healthcare spaces, specifically with regards to pain management. Systemic racism is present within all aspects of society–including health care systems–and can impact how nurses and other healthcare workers treat and approach pain management in patients of color, especially Black patients. The presentation will focus on recognizing existing racial inequities in access to quality healthcare and will explore the factors, both conscious and unconscious, that influence nurses and providers in pain treatment decision-making.
