An Introduction to Residency Program Development

This event has reached capacity. Please email Training@cpca.org to be added to our waitlist.

On the heels of California’s historic budget commitment to primary care residency, this 1.5 day training opportunity is intended to educate community health centers on residency program development. Residencies are an important tool for strengthening the healthcare workforce and recruiting/retaining physicians in community health centers. This training will be led by Education Health Center Initiative’s (EHCI’s) Kiki Nocella, PhD, MHA.  Dr. Nocella has decades of experience working on developing over 100 residency programs across the country.  This training will explore:

  • The current state of GME and primary care residency program development
  • Various models of clinical workforce training programs: traditional GME, state, consortia and Wright Center models.  Specific examples from California and other national programs will be highlighted.
  • Financing models
  • Accreditation processes
  • Best practices and key issues regarding CHC-hospital partnerships to maximize success
