  • Hi everyone, looking forward to today! I tried to post this but it seemed it did not go through. If there is a duplicate post, my apologies. Today we will be talking about advertising, job announcements, and social media. I wanted to post a few articles that outline red flags candidates are looking out for when reviewing job announcements.

One other thing I wanted to mention was working with the associations of specific professions and then also going to organizations that are focus on diverse candidates and seeing if they have a job posting site. Alumni networks at schools or job sites at colleges and universities can be super helpful too. Our Building an Inclusive Organization Toolkit has some ideas for places to post when looking for diverse candidates. https://chcworkforce.org/web_links/building-an-inclusive-organization-toolkit/

Hi everyone, we are looking forward to tomorrow’s session! The session will be led by our Training Specialist, Alex Rohlwing. We are finishing up the slides to post them on here for everyone. As always we will have the recording and homework posted after the session. There was a question about creative ways to capture the attention of job seekers. If anyone has any success with the sites they post on, please let your fellow cohort members know.

Hi Elaine and Dorothy, this is such a good question. One site we recommend is http://www.idealist.org. It is specific to recruiting people looking for non-profit and mission-driven work. We will also have a session all about job announcements and writing job postings that capture the audience’s attention. One thing I do with all of our recruitment boot camps is offer the attends the opportunity to send me a sample of your job postings and I will provided detailed feedback on the language on some adjustments and tips to make to hopefully capture the attention of job seekers. Let me know if you would like me to do that for y’all and I would be happy to review it. You can reach me directly at my email mfernandez@clinicians.org.

We recommend really telling your health centers story in the job ad, detailing benefits, posting salary ranges (applicants now may not even look at a posting if it doesn’t include the salary range), talking about the patient population you work with, having a justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion statement, and highlighting how you support your workforce.

Hi Francesca, so wonderful to see you again! As with everyone, it is so great the amazing experience you bring and we are so happy to have you join the cohort! And I know we will learn as much from you too.

Welcome Laura! So happy to have you part of the cohort and also looking forward to learning from your experience. As a Florida always glad to have those onboard from the Sunshine state. And also welcome to the health center family! And, we’ll definitely be working on perfecting and updating the recruitment plan.

Hi Lucie, welcome and we are so happy to have you as part of this cohort. I know we will get to learn so much from you as much as we hope you learn from the course.

Hi everyone, attached is the assignment for session 2. Please complete it prior to our next session on 5.12.22. We are here to help and answer any questions you may have. Thank you!

    Hi everyone,

We wanted to provide everyone with a PDF version of the self-assessment so that you can look through it before completing it online and see what materials you need to gather. If you have not already done so, please go to the following link to complete the self-assessment: http://forms.logiforms.com/formdata/user_forms/68725_123124/327585/page1.html?cachebust=2027

Welcome, Latrell! Looking forward to having you as part of the cohort. I was also a Communications major for my undergrad, so always glad to have a fellow communications person onboard.

Welcome everyone to Recruitment Boot Camp: 4.0. It was great to meet everyone at today’s session. Here you will find the recordings, ppts, homework, and other resources. Feel free to ask questions. Our hope is to build engagement in the Discussion Board, but we also understand how busy everyone is so it is ok if you prefer to use it as a repository for our materials. This is your learning collaborative! So use it as you best prefer.

Also, feel free to introduce yourself on here as well. A little background on me. I’ve been with ACU now for almost two years (two years in May…yay!). I have worked with health centers for about six years. I have my Master and Doctorate in the field of social work and before social work I studied communications and media with a focus in documentary filmmaking. Prior to working with health centers, I used to work with sexual assault survivors both civilian and military and still do volunteer work in this area.

Happy to answer any questions you may have and you have a great team at the STAR2 Center here to back you up and support you on your recruitment process!

Attached you will find today’s presentation.
